Dining on Campus

The Topeka Zoo is less than ten minutes on foot from campus. Vegetarian options include the grass growing in the vacant lot across the street (however, this is not recommended due to the presence of unknown, glowing substances that are assumed to be pesticides). Students are prohibited from eating landscaping within campus boundaries.
Duck Dining Services® is the official foodservice provider of the University of Western Topeka and is proud to be a national leader in the bring-your-own-food, self-service dining hall industry. Presently, meals may only be purchased at the campus food truck, The Hungry Duck™, which operates on a random and frequently changing schedule. The food truck serves an eclectic mix of foods from around the city and the world, though it mainly centers on a fusion of Tex-Mex and Vietnamese. You can find it by looking for a truck on campus with a giant protruding narwhal tooth.

Health
Prior to the enactment of the Affordable Care Act, students and staff could not obtain health insurance coverage due to pre-existing conditions stemming from constant exposure to dangerous levels of asbestos and now-illegal chemicals in campus building materials. It is highly recommended to now obtain such coverage.
Greek Life

"If our namesake people cannot live a normal life, then neither will we,"
- statement written by UWT administration on behalf of campus fraternities
Most UWT Greek life has been indefinitely suspended since government austerity measures have been in place in solidarity with the Greek people.
The only remaining authorized fraternity on campus is Pi Chi Omega.

Safety and Security
UWT is located in a comparatively safe neighborhood. Nonetheless, the presence of campus safety officers helps to provide extra peace of mind. An officer is on-duty between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m., so please limit emergencies to this time period when possible.
Housing
No pets (other than ducks) are allowed in residence halls. All floors are Duck-friendly, but ducks may only reside on even-numbered floors. Please contact a Resident Assistant to report an illegal Duck settlement.
