The University of Western Topeka's Student Health Clinic has been attempting to meet the physical and mental needs of UWT students for over five years. We operate a semi-full service outpatient clinic exclusively practicing preventative medicine. What this means is that our staff members do not prescribe medications such as antibiotics. This is due in part to their lack of training and certification but primarily because of their personal moral standards. Our stance is perhaps best described by our director, Sheila Duffy.
"Bacteria are precious life forms. If you can find it within yourself to kill even a single bacterium, then I believe you are fully capable of killing a human being. There's only one step from killing a bacterium to becoming Jeffrey Dahmer. I don't want to take that step." - Director Sheila Duffy |
Please note: Due to attempted manipulation, students complaining of "flu-like symptoms" will be seen after all other patients.
